Lancia Stratos HF Zero sa zrodila v roku 1970. Úlohou tohto konceptu bolo zistiť, aké najnižšie auto sa dá postaviť. Stratos navrhol Marcello Gandini tak, aby jeho výška od zeme bola 84 cm! Pre koncept bol použitý motor Lancia 818.540 - 1.6-liter V4 13° s výkonom 115 hp pôvodne z auta Lancia Fulvia HF.
